Roof Insulation Gants

Save Energy Bills Without Spending

Free Loft Insulation Grant?

The loft insulation government grant is still available in the UK through the Great British Insulation Scheme and the ECO4 Scheme. This offers significant benefits for homeowners or private tenants. If you qualify, you can get various energy efficiency measures at no cost, which can help create a warm and energy-efficient home.

If you want to improve your home’s efficiency, one of the best options you can make is to insulate your roof without incurring any cost, as more than 25% of a house’s heat loss is caused by the roof. Insulation of lofts includes applying insulation between your roof spaces, either in joists or rafters present inside your property, which acts as a barrier in internal heat transfer through the roof. This makes the interior of the house warmer during the winter and cooler during the summer.

Free Room in Roof Insulation Grant?

The Room In Roof government grant is still available in the UK through the Great British Insulation Scheme and the ECO4 Scheme. These programs offer significant benefits for homeowners or private tenants by providing various energy efficiency measures at no cost, creating a warm and energy-efficient home.

Many loft conversions into rooms carried out more than 30 years ago are likely to be poorly insulated. Older properties with a loft/attic room were often not insulated at the time, and if insulation was installed, it’s often inadequate by modern standards. As a result, many loft rooms are cold and difficult to heat. It’s estimated that 25% of heat loss from an uninsulated home is through the roof, making insulating the roof space one of the most cost-effective solutions to start saving money on heating bills. Without insulation, the Room in Roof will be highly susceptible to temperature changes in both summer and winter.

Flat Roof Insulation Grant?

There are two methods of installing insulation in a flat roof: warm roof and cold roof insulation. Choosing the right method will depend on the type of building you are working with. Flat roof insulation is perfect for homes without a loft or roof space and can improve a property’s energy efficiency. A roof is usually considered “flat” if it has a pitch of less than 10 degrees. Insulating a flat roof can help reduce heat loss, condensation, and heating bills.”

Warm roof insulation is installed by placing the insulating material above the joists and covering it with a vapor barrier. This method helps reduce condensation in the flat roof void and is considered the best option for the UK climate. On the other hand, cold roof insulation involves installing insulation between the joists and placing a waterproof cover on top. While it is the least energy-efficient way to insulate a roof, it’s a good choice for outbuildings or retrofit projects. A cold roof typically requires a roof void ventilation system to prevent damp buildup.
