The household income must be under £31,000 to get funding through the income-based route. Proof of income must be provided, which can be a bank statement as evidence and other supporting documents

GBIS offers grant for only one insulation measure. Other than that homeowners can get the heating controls and room thermostat totally free. On the other hand ECO4 grant scheme offer grants for the multiple energy efficiency measures at the same time subject to meeting the eligibility criteria. Click here  to get more information.

You can get single energy efficiency measure under GBIS Scheme out of following measures.

Grant will be available subject to the assessment.

Tenant is not eligible to get funding for heating controls and room thermostat under GBIS scheme and in any other funding scheme.

Please visit following links to find an EPC and check your Council tax band.

The GBIS funding is being offered for the insulation measures with aim to reduce energy bills without putting burden on the households. Cavity wall and loft insulation is usually free in most of the cases. For rest of measures contribution is also required which depends on the outcome of the assessment.

The outcome of the assessment usually helps in predicting the most suitable energy efficiency measure for your property. Our team of professionals will help you in getting the most suitable energy efficiency measure as per your choice that will help in reducing your energy bills significantly.

Yes, if you meet the qualifying criteria of the ECO4 Government Scheme then you can get external wall of your house insulated through funding.

It usually depends on the different parameters including the type of your property and heat loss area measurements in addition to meeting the eligibility criteria. In most of the cases, the available funding for the External wall insulation is covered through available grant while sometimes contribution might be required from the households which totally depends on the assessment outcome.

It is often not recommended to install the external wall insulation by yourself. EWI must be installed by professionals that are not only qualified but are also accredited with approved bodies that can provide the 25 years Insurance Backed Guarantee but also complies with the required standards.

Of course, External Wall Insulation not only improves the energy efficiency of your property but also gives it a fresh look. The new render available in different colours adds to aesthetics of your property hence adds to value of your property.

Yes. As per ventilation requirements mentioned in Government Approved Document F your property must have adequate ventilation. This includes provision of minimum door undercuts, extract fans with proper outlet through ducting, window trickle vents etc. It is essential to ensure that External Wall Onsulation does not block the Loft and Room in Roof ventilation.

External Wall Insulation is considered for solid wall properties. If cavity walls of extensions comes out to be unfilled then it must be filled. The cavity walls of extensions of your property are checked during assessment survey of your property.

As per the approved standards all solid and heat loss walls of your house must be wrapped in order to save the heat loss. If the heat loss walls remain uninsulated then condensation will appear due to weaker insulation barrier to heat.

If the extension of your property was constructed with planning permission, then it is obvious that cavity wall of extensions is already insulated (filled cavity wall). Hence require no insulation.

Whenever there come limitations in installing external wall insulation then internal wall insulation becomes the prime choice. Moreover, traditional and listed properties are suitable for internal wall insulation only.

The Internal Wall Insulation is being funded by the Government schemes which offer funding. The only thing is to meet the eligibility criteria of the subject funded scheme. Moreover, an assessment is required to verify the suitability as well as available funding for the installation of Internal Wall Insulation.

Installation of Internal Wall Insulation requires removing and reinstallation of radiators, electric sockets etc. Moreover, existing indoor utilities like curtain railings and furnishes will be relocated before installing the Internal Wall Insulation. The Internal Wall Insulation is to be applied to all heat loss walls.

The benefits of Internal Wall Insulation is same as that of External Wall Insulation but when it comes to disadvantages then utilisation of indoor space by the Internal Wall Insulation becomes the prime concern. Internal Wall Insulation is suitable if indoor space is not an issue.

Internal Wall Insulation provides range of benefits like.

  1. A great alternative if households don’t want to change their property exterior.
  2. Reduce energy bills by saving the heat loss.
  3. Reduces the carbon footprint.
  4. Improves EPC rating.
  5. Value addition to property.

The walls that are prone to dampness must be treated properly prior to installation of Internal Wall Insulation. Internal Wall Insulation cannot be applied to the walls that are affected by dampness without any treatment.

The Internal Wall Insulation if installed by the approved installer comes with 25 years of Insurance Backed Guarantee.

Yes. As per ventilation requirements mentioned in Government Approved Document F your property must have adequate ventilation. This includes provision of minimum door undercuts, extract fans with proper outlet through ducting, trickle vents etc.

No. The walls of your bathroom and kitchen cannot be insulated internally.

The life span of Internal Wall Insulation is more than 25 years.

The cavity walls are easy to identify. If the bricks are laid in only longer face sequence then wall of your house is cavity wall.

You can get grant for Cavity Wall Insulation without paying subject to meeting the eligibility criteria and assessment outcome. All the Cavity Wall Insulation grant schemes offer 100% free cavity wall insulation for your property.

The insulation of the cavity wall is not a long process but depends on type of property.

The Cavity Wall Insulation is usually done externally and requires no shifting of any existing services within the property. Due to simplicity of the process, the Cavity Wall Insulation proves to be an undisruptive process.

There are a number of factors that usually decide the suitability of the Cavity Wall Insulation. If there exist damp and condensation in the cavity then it is not recommended for insulation.

The Cavity Wall Insulation comes with 25 years of Insurance Backed Guarantee if installed by an approved installer.

You can find small holes in your cavity walls that are usually present in second or third brick layer under the window. These small holes are sealed properly after Cavity Wall Insulation and are barely visible.

If the extension of your property was constructed with planning permission, then it is obvious that cavity wall of extensions is already insulated (filled cavity wall). Hence require no insulation.

It is completely okay if your property has the flat roof. The efficient working of the Solar Panels depends on the angle towards the sun. The only important thing is the strength of your roof to bear the weight of the Solar Panels.

Getting the Solar Panels installed along with an Air Source Heat Pump under ECO4 Grant scheme will not only give your property a heating upgrade but will also help in reducing the energy bills significantly.

Yes, Solar Panels can be installed in garden too. All is required to place the panels on the frame. Your garden can be good place for Solar Panels installation if it is not shaded by the nearby trees and surrounding buildings. Installing Solar Panels in the garden will also give you advantage in cleaning them with ease.

Yes, Solar Panels can be installed on an outbuilding. Just make sure that roof of the shed and garages are strong enough to bear load of these panels.

The solar energy from the sun is absorbed by the photovoltaic (PV) cells present in the panel. Silicon, a semi conducting material is used in layers of these cells. The sun energy energises the PV cells which produce an electric charge. Electric charge produced by PV cells creates electricity i-e Direct Current (DC). Inverter installed within the solar system converts Direct Current (DC) to Alternating current (AC) electricity which then is utilized for household appliances.

Solar Panels are capable for producing electricity for more than 25 years. Solar PV inverter needs replacement after 12 years (subject to manufacturer warranty).

There is not much maintenance required for the Solar Panel systems. Just keeping an eye on grown trees nearby and trimming them to avoid shading will ensure the efficient working of solar panels.

Rain will clean your Solar Panels if tilted at 15 degrees of more. If Solar Panels are installed in dusty area then they need occasional cleaning.

A number of factors to considered i-e size of solar system, the ease in installing Solar Panels, number of Solar Panels required for your property and onsite execution. Most of the time the solar system is installed within 1-3 days but if your property requires some additional work then time may prolong.

Getting funding for Solar PV is easy. Government ECO4 scheme as well as other funded options are available for the household to promote the green energy for the households.

The process starts meeting the eligibility criteria of the relevant funding scheme along with the assessment of your property which involves technical calculations and measurements. You can start the process of getting free Solar Panels by just filling out Apply now form.
